Ingredients
1 ½cupsfrozen blueberries
1cupsugar
1cupwater
Optional add-ins
1teaspoonvanilla extract
½teaspooncardamomfor a more pie-like flavor
1teaspoonlemon juicefor a brighter flavor
Instructions
Add all ingredients to a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer.
Simmer for 15-20 minutes until syrup has reduced by ⅓.
Strain syrup through a fine mesh sieve into a bottle and discard blueberry pulp, or save it to add to oatmeal or yogurt. Store refrigerated for up to 2 weeks.
