For a single serving (about 1 ½ tablespoons of syrup)
2teaspoonswater
2teaspoonsbrown sugar
1teaspoonmaple syrup
¾teaspoonpumpkin puree
1/4teaspoonpumpkin pie spice
Instructions
Add water, brown sugar, and maple syrup to a small saucepan. Heat over medium high heat until mixture is simmering and sugars are dissolved.
1 cup water, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 6 tablespoons real maple syrup
Add spices and pumpkin puree to the saucepan. Stir until any lumps are gone and simmer for 3-4 minutes. Remove from heat.
1 ½ teaspoons cinnamon, ½ teaspoon ginger, ½ teaspoon nutmeg, ½ teaspoon allspice, ¼ teaspoon cloves, 6 tablespoons pumpkin puree
Store refrigerated for up to two weeks, or freeze some to use later! The mixture will settle, so stir or shake your syrup before using to reincorporate the pumpkin puree.
For a single serving
Combine all the single serving ingredients in a small microwave safe bowl and mix until smooth. Heat in the microwave for 30 seconds. Use as desired!
2 teaspoons water, 2 teaspoons brown sugar, 1 teaspoon maple syrup, ¾ teaspoon pumpkin puree, 1/4 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
Notes
Substitutions:
You may swap out all the spices for 1 tablespoon of storebought pumpkin pie spice (but we think our homemade blend is even better!).You can use all brown sugar (1 whole cup) instead of the combination of brown sugar and maple syrup.
Use:
Use 1 ½ to 2 tablespoons of pumpkin spice sauce where you would typically use 1 tablespoon of flavored simple syrup. Due to the volume of pumpkin purée in the syrup, you will need to use more to get the same level of sweetness.
